Turbochargedmodels were the 190-bhp front-drive Eclipse GS-T and the 195-bhp all-wheel drive Eclipse GSX. The base Plymouth Laser featured the 92-bhp 1.8-liter single-cam engine, while the Laser RS utilized the 135-bhp twin-cam 2.0-liter engine. The Laser RS Turbo boasted 190 bhp.

TheEclipse was offered as a convertible or liftback coupe during its production, and was fitted with a range of naturally aspirated or turbocharged inline four engines, as well as V6 options. The Mitsubishi Eclipse was built in four generations: 1st Gen (1990-1994) , 2nd Gen (1995-1999) , 3rd Gen (2000-2005) , and 4th Gen (2006-2012) .
