Wait a few days until you see a purple light coming down from the sky, then use soul trap on the altar. Look inside and you get a black soul gem.

Additionally, only people give black souls - all others are white. So people-souls will only go into black soul gems. But white souls can go into black gems, if that’s all that’s available. If you don’t have a soul gem available that’s the same size as the soul you’re trapping, the soul will go into a larger gem if it’s available.
